One of the most delicious broths I had ever had, I always end up drinking all of it. The broth has a rich thickness to it I have not found anywhere else. This place easily became my favorite ramen spot, I am going to miss not living as close it it anymore. 10/10 (additional parking along the back near the train tracks)
My wife and I were in the area for some last minute Christmas shopping, and we wanted to get something warm for the weather. I haven't had Ramen Dojo since approximately 2015(?) so it had been long overdue. I remember it being really good a decade ago. I ordered the garlic pork tonkotsu and my wife had the creamy corn. I also added a fried soft shell crab. Both of our broths were really rich and savory. We were initially skeptical about the corn broth, but it was interesting; it didn't have a strong corn taste but you could definitely tell it was there. My pork tonkatsu was pretty standard, not in a bad way but not in a way the stands out from any other ramen shop. My only complaints would be that the serving size is a little small, the standard toppings are a little skimp, and the broth was a little too salty for our taste. Despite the nitpicky things we still enjoyed our meal and it was a nice warm lunch on a cold winter day. While my nostalgia probably carried my fondness for this ramen shop all these year, maybe times have changed everything and I'm just now noticing. Either way I will definitely make my way back again.
I'm obsessed with Ramen Dojo! Being just 15 minutes from my place, I finally took the plunge and tried it after months of recommendations. The service is great, and the Ramen is AMAZING! I've tried 4 different plates, and each one is a favorite. I'm hooked now - definitely worth checking out!
5-Stars for the stellar service—the lady that attended me was very considerate, knowledgeable and energetic and set the mood for the dinner vibes. Also, her suggestion of special ramen was right on point. The pork and egg was cooked to perfection and the broth is rich. I enjoyed my ramen very much so. Good quality of music!
One of the best ramen places in San Mateo! Flavorful soup, well-textured noodles, and well-cooked toppings. Soup is very similar to Ramen Parlor and Santa Ramen (all owned by the same owner). It used to be a lot more difficult to get a seat, but due to the explosion of dining options in San Mateo, it’s much easier to get a seat in the small, intimate venue. Plenty of street parking or in the lot behind the restaurant. Fast and friendly service.
Small ramen spot with great customer service, Everything in the menu is delicious! PS. The extra spicy broth is definitely not made for the weak ;), if you’re adventurous and don’t mind the burn, I would definitely recommend getting it.
Cozy, nice small restaurant which can accommodate up to 36 people. You can easily find parking around the blocks. I went at noon on Monday and the place was 75% full. I was seated quickly at the bar area and my order was taken within 5 minutes. My ramen was served within the next 10 minutes. I got #5 on their new menu, the soft-shelled crab with garlic pork tonkotsu soup. It’s very flavorful and savory. The soft-shelled crab is to die for and the noodles have that right balance of softness and tenderness. Overall, very pleasant experience.
Took the family for the first time for a Saturday lunch. Got lucky with no line for a party of 5. We ordered pork garlic with pork belly and extra noodles. It was very filling meal. We had no spicy, mild, and med spicy. All delicious. Service was outstanding. Street parking was pretty easy. Can’t wait to come back.
